PRESS RELEASE – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
“Plein Aire” Comes to Shevlin
Plein Aire artist Dan Mondloch is the featured teaching artist at a workshop at the Clearwater County History Center in Shevlin, MN. Plein Aire is a phrase borrowed from the French equivalent meaning “in the open air”. It is particularly used to describe the act of painting outdoors.
Dan will be conducting a 2-day plein aire workshop on Thursday, September 6 and Friday, September 7, 2018 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. For more information on the workshop contact Pamela at 218-368-5221.
Dan Mondloch is a third generation painter of landscapes in watercolor, following in the footsteps of his parents and great grandfather. In his hometown of St. Cloud, he graduated from SCSU with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Painting and Drawing in 2007.
He operates a studio in his home, where he balances his professional life between studio art, commission work, murals, and teaching. He became a rostered teaching artist for the Central MN Arts Board in 2012. He teaches studio and plein air workshops, K-12 Artist Residencies, and beginner classes at the Paramount Visual Arts Center in St. Cloud. In 2013 he was awarded a McKnight Emerging Artists Award from the Central MN Arts Board (CMAB), and a Career Development grant from them in 2012 & 2014.
