Advancement Officer

through philanthropy? Bemidji State University Alumni & Foundation is seeking a

dynamic and motivated Advancement Officer to join our team and help shape the

future of our institution.
 

Position Summary

As an Advancement Officer, you will play a key role in securing financial support for

Bemidji State University in a fast-paced campaign environment. You’ll manage a

portfolio of qualified donors, ensuring strong engagement and increased giving. You’ll

also identify and cultivate new prospects to expand our donor base and strengthen our

community of support.
 

Key Responsibilities

● Develop and implement personalized strategies to qualify, cultivate, solicit, and

steward donors, with a goal to raise $300K-500K in year one.

● Align donor interests with the strategic priorities of Bemidji State University and

our current For the North fundraising campaign (bsualumni.org/forthenorth)

● Create individualized contact and solicitation plans based on donor motivations

and preferences.

● Collaborate with assigned colleges or programs to identify fundraising priorities

and craft compelling funding proposals.
 

Work Environment

This position offers a hybrid work schedule, allowing for remote work 2-3 days per week.

However, candidates must be available for in-person meetings in Bemidji at least one

day per week.
 

Qualifications

● Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.

● Experience: Minimum of 3 years in fundraising, development,

corporate/foundation partnerships, marketing, or related fields.●

Strong organizational skills and a self-starting attitude.

● Willingness to travel regionally, nationally, and internationally as needed.

● Commitment to the mission, vision, and values of the BSU Alumni & Foundation.
